Assalamualaikum all,
Well so sorry it has taken me a few days to write about how the review went. I was mostly spending this last week trying to shake off the demons as well as the tiredness from the review preparation and have been very busy destressing myself this weekend by doing shopping..!
Well the demon word has come out in the first paragraph so from that you can gather it didn't go very well. Well at least for me. My supervisors said my presentation was pretty good and that the review committee was satisfied syukur alhamdulillah for that. But my was it a harrowing experience.
First up I was told the presentation was excellent by many of my friends. In the first part of the morning when James and Claudia listened to my presentation in the morning I was still very shaky in many parts. Somehow when I presented I had managed to pull myself together and it went well. One of the main reasons for that was a lot of duas prior to starting as well as Gagi and Arian's photo placed on the rostrum where I was speaking. That served as a reminder that I had to do it for them and it worked like a charm.
Nevertheless when the questions sessions started it was a different story altogether. Suffice to say I was only able to answer the first few questions before facing a proper mental block where I could not answer anything.
When I got called by the review committee the same thing happened. I had never been so embarassed in my life and until now I feel it. Nevertheless I am happy to say the committee was satisfied so I will soon get a letter from Sean the Postgraduate Coordinator to tell me how it went.
In a way I think it was also good that I fumbled so that I can really realize I have many gaps in my understanding of the project that I needed to adress. Also Allah does not want me to feel arrogance in case it went really well in all areas. So syukur alhamdulillah for that.
Now I am just relaxing before the real work starts tomorrow.
